weddings
Life is indeed a cycle. We we’re born, became a toddler, reached our adolescences to enjoy life, experience adulthood before we die. Most survived this so-called lifecycle, but some are not fortunate enough to be able to enjoy the beauty of life. As we go through this, we tend to be familiar and understand a lot of things, meet different kinds of people, and see places that we thought that we could never see in person.
Life as it is, will always be surprisingly beautiful.
Me and my friends are what it is called in Sociology – the Early Stage of Adulthood. Where people expects you to be independent, and starts life that will lead into a married life.
Wedding had always been close to my heart, eversince i was a kid. My bestfriend wrech and i promised each other that when we reach 30 and, both of us are single we will start a business as wedding planners. But as we all know, life has it's own twist.
At 28, my 2 bestfriends are already happily married. Wrech who was the first one who got married among the three of us is happy with her, hubby jun. They were college sweethearts and could never let go of each other and ended up in a lifetime commitment and partnership. They have their own ups and downs that made their relationship strong. Jasmin, however, is now miles apart from us, as she choose to live a life in London, with her hubby mark, whom who never fails to make her happy every single minute of the day. They started a long distance relationship but it was never a hindrance to them not to end up to a lifetime commitment.

At our status and age now, we are expected to be married. And as for me, i’ve been enjoying the life of helping my friends prepare their wedding. I’m taking it slowly as i enjoy being a wedding coordinator – from designing and deciding for the invites, to the souvenirs, to the designs of the gown, to the reception and even to the songs that should be sung during the ceremony. Thus, wedding had always been one of the events that i love to attend to. Aside from the fact that i’m a hopeless romantic, i enjoy aring the vows and the sweet moments and sweet nothings of the couple. For they teach and make me believe that ‘this’ moment will come to my life. . . one of these days.

I have always dreamt of a grande wedding for myself. A wedding ball dress of black for myself, and my visitors will and should be the one who will wear colourful dresses or, it could be the other way around, i will wear colourful wedding ball dress then my visitors will be wearing plain black or white. I wanted to have it either sunset or sunrise in a beautiful beach or garden or in a mountain of savannah. But at the end of the daydream, i only wanted to have my family and the groom’s family and close [real close] friends to be present in this very important day of my life, in a small chapel where i stayed in my college days. A dream that i wish would come true. . . someday.
As i tried to reflect on the thought that most of my dearest friends are walking down the aisle with their chosen partners, i try to ask myself “am i being left alone?” I always knew that whenever my friends marry, i’m never be alone nor they will never leave me, but instead i’ll be gaining one more friend.
