Hearts Month
At the age of 28 and turning 29 this year, i'm trying to find whether or not i am affected with this valentines day celebration which is a very famous celebration here in Philippines, next to Christmas.
I'm not really a fan of valentines day, except for the giving and receiving flowers. Back when i was still in highschool i would set up my friends to be able to have dates with their crush. I've never hoped nor wished that i would be the one sitting there and talking to my crush, since i only want to be with one person... that time. I've never dated anyone in highschool for the sake of valentines day.
Even when i get to college. I would never wanted to date someone during valentines. I just had one quite memory of valentines day... when my crush then, fetch me from my night classes and walked me home. But he has a gf that time, and i know he was just doing it because we are good friends.
I never even spend much time celebrating valentines even when i had a boyfriend. It was more of a normal day for us. No gifts. No flowers. No cards. No nothing. Just another simple and ordinary day for us.
I had been single for 5 years now and another valentines day is coming in less than two weeks. The feeling is the same. . . and not looking forward to it. Would maybe do the same thing -- watch movie, stay in the house, or spend it with friends. People should know that valentines could be celebrated everyday. It would not only be during every February 14 in a year.
If two people are loving and caring for each other they should make their life together a valentines day. . .
