BACOLOD: the city of smile

NEXT DESTINATION: BACOLOD CITY

I have friends who were from bacolod, friends who happened to visit bacolod, friends who worked in bacolod and friends who are risiding in bacolod. And now, it's my time to shine!! YES! finally, ive been to the city of smile -- bacolod city.

FIRST IMPRESSION: VERY NICE!!! I love the place ;)I love the people ;) and iI want to go back again!! Not to have trainings, seminars or whatever work related but to relax and enjoy the city.

I've tasted the real bacolod delicacies from cafe bob's to calea to pendy's to chicken house and even to their SUTUKIL place [except for batchoy as i'm not a fan of batchoy]. and i can never say anything except EXCELLENTE. Foods are sinfully delicious and very affordable for all the tourist or people who are in a budget trip.

I have visited their artist place. . the ORANGE gallery, which has nice exhibit. amazing artists!!

Had glimpse of their city hall, government center, and even the first hotel in bacolod which is until now is a 5 star hotel -- el fisher.

Been to their historical sites like the ruins, visited the gatsons ancestral house and their hacienda, the tana dikang house in silay city, and other historical sites.

Visited also the vitoria milling which was own by the javellana's not really sure] before and now, it's lucio tan who owns it. urgh! not again!!!

And who would miss the masskara festival? Though i wasn't able to witness the masskara festival, i was able to witness the elektric masskara festival. Why elektric? because the parade is done during at night to be able to showcase the colorful masks that has different lights. Though i gotta complain its crowded, but i did enjoyed it!!

Definitely, i will be back to this place and enjoy more smiles, share smiles to my friends and family who would love to come with me here, and put smile to my face as well.

me at cafe bob's with our dinner.

our dinner at cafe bob's. lasagna and a pink salmon pesto pizza. they are superb!!

posing with the yumyum pastries of cafe bob's. ive tried one of those. and its really delicious.

2nd stop for the night. jonna and me at calea. while waiting for our order and asked the waitress to take pictures of us.

sweet tooth =) another yumyum for the night @ calea. having a hard time choosing what to eat as they all look delicious to me.

just outside the door of calea. wanted to go for a 3rd night destination, but the jealous ramon hit the city, so we're figuring what to do next.

waiting for the rain to stop, as jealous ramon comes to visit bacolod right on the day i arrived. urgh!

first stop for my second night, @ chicken house with my very generous and kind friend slash student [d naman na under sakin] miss jonna sorallo. their chicken is yummy!!

at the government center. this was actually our last destination for the night. thanks to mamang pulis who took this picture. jonna and me

one of my favorite place of bacolod is their city hall. which is more famous of the name lagoon. the first time i saw this, i was mesmerized with the beauty with it. there are telapia in the lagoon. and the first thing that comes to mind seeing this, was the lincoln memorial at washington dc. i know youll agree with me.

signing at the guest book of orange gallery. its a place for their artists.

thanks to the cute artist who offered to take picture of me and jonna.

and the cute artist had asked us to take another pose in another part of the room as he enjoys taking pictures of us. *wink*

my 2nd night in bacolod. at el fisher hotel. on a hall way going to their back hotel.

i would love to dip into the water while reading. at el fisher hotel.

jonna and me as i set the timer in my camera just so we have a picture together here at el fisher.

i wanna dip into their pool! it's so inviting!! how i wish i can stay in this hotel even for just a night and would be able to dip in this lovely swimming pool. urghhh don't tempt me please!! :-)

who says shoe house only happens in nursery rhymes? this is one of the play houses of the gatsons in occidental at their backyar.d yes! it's real and it has stairs inside and it's big!!

i took this picture, and i kinda like how it turned out. it looks creepy though. but this is the gatsons ancestral house.

its not creepy as you think it is. it's one of my favorite houses that i had visited in negros occidental. their is a touch of a little modernity with a fixed of classic environment.

the second stop during our tour. the house of ramon hofilena. he was a former actor and model in the days before i was born. but he is definitely a good speaker and a good tourist guide. as he keeps on telling us "we are the bad tour" because he was only given 30 minutes to take us see all his collection and his ancestral house.

the outside facade of ramon hofilena house. it's indeed an old house.

when i saw this big tree.. the first thing that comes to my mind is the song KANLUNGAN. without any reasons. until now, i dont know why i thought of that song. lol

a small lake at the back of a grande church. small but very grand church inside a lavish subdivision

yumyum... love the place =)

it's where everybody bought their pasalubong for their families and friends back home. did i? nope... i didnt... as i was too tired thinking what to buy and just thinking of carrying everything makes me feel tired. ahahahaha

tana dikang house in silay city. tana short for kapitana. we were able to meet her great grand daughter who was on the next tour after we had our short tour here. nice and very classic!! but its creepy thought :P

tana dikang second floor. their dining area for visitors. plain white. i like it but i just dont like the creepyness i feel when i was there.

the place where i've been wanting to be. the RUINS! i thought it was easy to go their.. and as usual, when you expect more you see less. and i was bit disappointed but it was okay. especially when the sunset hits the top part of the ruins and it changed its color. got to face my fear of heights here as i went to the top not knowing that there was no floor for the secondfloor. too dumb for me to realize it very late, when i was already walking at the skeleton of the house and my knees are trembling with fear. but after... got to take more pictures as this is once in a lifetime only. hehehehe

at showroom, where i had a panic buying!! ahahaha... not very good ei. coz you tend to spend more when you do that, than just buying a little of everything. whew!! i wish i could turn back time and didnt buy all those things and saved the money for cebu. ahahahahha

jonna an me at cafe bob's. it's almost 2 in the morning but still it has a busy street. and everyone is enjoying the party. haggardness ang look.

me and my last minute shopping. we just finished our sumptous dinner at their version of SUTUKIL. good thing my friends from manila was able to figure out the kind of place we had eaten. hehehehe

the lights of electric masskara festival. this was taken by jonna =) nice no?

elvis is alive!! but with big hed on his shoulder :P heheheh

dancers during the elektric masskara

so there... with a little of everything, you were able to have a virtual tour to bacolod. you'll never be sorry once you get to visit the city. people are nice and they are so accommodating, even the taxi drivers.

so go and visit it!! =)
